
Riderwood Resident Services provides a variety of supportive settings for residents to share information and experiences. Each Riderwood neighborhood has a Resident Services Coordinator with an office near the clubhouse .

Arbor Ridge Family Council
The mission of the Family Council, in partnership with the Arbor Ridge staff, RAC, and Independent Living residents, provides a structure for Arbor Ridge resident families to discuss and advocate for the improvement of care, well-being, and happiness of all Arbor Ridge residents and to provide support for family members and a forum for all to learn and contribute more to Arbor Ridge to help make it the best it can be. Intermissions
The Young at Heart Club is an ongoing social day program for our residents who are experiencing mild to moderate memory and cognitive challenges. You MUST schedule an initial appointment to meet with the coordinator to determine if we are a good fit for your purpose. We offer a variety of person-centered activities that will stimulate and engage our participants in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The program also provides respite to the caregivers.

LGBTQ Support/Discussion Group
We share our personal journeys and present day concerns. We will discuss issues from an historical and current perspective. All are welcome – LGBTQ+ persons, family, allies, and any interested Riderwood residents and staff.

Low Vision Support Group
Are you having trouble reading regular print even with glasses? Are you finding that you can’t see as well as you used to? If you have noticed changes in your vision, please join the Low Vision Support Group. Speakers from various disciplines provide information to help individuals cope with Low Vision and maintain their independence. We share helpful ideas and experiences with each other including information about resources, equipment, and the latest treatments. In addition we arrange for outings to Low Vision Expo’s and educational events in the DC & Baltimore metro areas.

This group is a meeting of Overeater Anonymous for those residents who are interested in recovery from compulsive eating, and in reaching and maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle. Our goal practices a 12 step program for people with compulsive eating disorder. The group encourages eating for health through physical, emotional, and spiritual recovery.

Parkinson’s Support Group
This is a support group for residents and caregivers of residents with Parkinson’s Disease. Each month we discuss new and relevant topics related to Parkinson’s Disease as well as give the residents time to connect with their peers on the issues that affect them directly.

Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group
This group works to provide a safe setting for sharing our PN problems. We seek to develop information on our neurological systems (especially the Peripheral Nervous System, as well was its relationship to the Central Nervous System) and to explore current research which may lead to treatment improvements.
