Our Vision is to be an advocate for the interests of Riderwood Residents.

We work collaboratively with management to support and help all residents lead a satisfying satisfying life.

The RAC is a purely advisory body, and meets at least twice monthly. Its purpose is to:

  • Cultivate opportunities for residents and Management to communicate and collaborate on programs and services.
  • Act as a liaison and communication channel between the residents, Management and the Community Board of Directors to promote the satisfaction health, comfort, and safety of residents.
  • Advise Management about the insights and suggestions of residents regarding the value of services provided.
  • Communicate with residents about the background and purpose of policies, programs, and activities that affect them.
  • Collaborate with Management regarding capital projects, such as clubhouse or residential hallway renovations.

On MyErickson (RAC section) you can find the following information about the RAC and its members:

  • Biographical statements and photos of current RAC members,
  • Minutes of RAC meetings
  • Copy of RAC Constitution and Bylaws
  • Minutes of RAC-committee and subcommittee meetings
  • Bylaws for RAC-subcommitttees

The RAC has created the committees and subcommittees to support the
work of the RAC. Liaisons either chair committees or are voting members
of committees under their Liaison roles.

Most RAC committees consist of residents and staff who collaborate
on a wide range of activities and initiatives designed to benefit residents.

Committee bylaws determine whether members serve for 2 or 3 year terms, and specify how members are selected. Currently all , but the
Continuing Education Committee, begin member terms on March 1 and
end at the end of February. Committees may place applicants on waiting
lists when vacancies are filled.

Elections are held annually in February. Three new members from Independent Living and 1 from Continuing Care are chosen to replace those whose terms have been completed.

After each election, RAC members elect an Executive Committee composed of a Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary. The Chair and Vice-Chair serve as members of the Riderwood Community Board of Directors, which includes a member of National Senior Communities, Inc. (NSC), a non-profit that oversees the 18 Erickson Communities.

Residents should contact the appropriate Riderwood department as the first step in addressing a concern or suggestion. If you’ re unsure what department can help, ask at the the front desk. You can also find emails and phone numbers in the Department Directory on MyErickson or in the Yellow Pages available at the front desk. Each dining location also has several methods (card or QR) for expressing both positive and negative feedback.

If your concern or suggestion is not addressed satisfactorily in a reasonable amount of time, please use this online RAC Suggestion and Concern form, below. A paper form is available at the RAC box in each clubhouse.
