Who We Are:
The League of Women Voters (LWV) is a nonpartisan organization of women and men. Our mission is to encourage the informed and active participation of citizens on important public issues; to influence public policy through education and advocacy; and to encourage millions of citizens to exercise their right to vote.
LWV is a membership organization with members joining in the county (Montgomery or Prince Georges) in which they reside. LWV at Riderwood brings selected events such as discussion groups, webinars, talks, etc. to the Riderwood campus for the convenience of members and others. We also make the non-partisan Voters’ Guide available before every election.
The Riderwood League of Women Voters group meets monthly September to May. For more information contact Mary Lanigan at LWV@riderwoodlife.com

Join us to learn about new LWVUS initiatives, goals, updates, and insights from the team that represented the Montgomery County League at the national convention in June.
Delegates representing state and local leagues gathered to network, attend workshops, participate in caucuses, and vote on critical business items, the budget, bylaws, amendments, and national League priorities. How does this affect what the local Leagues do?
Discussion led by a member of Montgomery County LWV.
NOTE: A general business meeting follows the discussion so plan to stay until 2:30pm or so.

There are many current efforts that seek to undermine our voting rights and democracy.
Be informed and make your voice heard. Go to the various League websites listed below for information and current activities.

LWV Voters’ Guides
VOTE411 is an interactive guide accessed from a website on a computer, smartphone, tablet, etc. Enter your address and VOTE411 displays all of the offices and candidates that will be on your ballot.
The other LWV guides provide non-partisan election information you need for each County. Check your voter registration, find your polling place, learn about candidates, and more. (County guides should be available late September.)
