The goal of the LaughChat email group is to give us a place to laugh, share amusing things, and brighten each other’s day.
Join the email group to send and receive humorous messages. To join, just send an email to LaughChat+subscribe@RWV.groups.io. No subject or text is necessary, but you can enter them if your email tool requires it. Review the Join an Email Group page for more basic information about the RWV email groups.
A Few Guidelines
- Keep it good-natured. Jokes, cartoons and such are welcome when their purpose is to make people laugh rather than to ridicule or put someone down.
- Be thoughtful about sensitive subjects. Humor involving race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, or other personal characteristics can easily cross the line from funny to hurtful. Avoid sexually explicit or political issues. When in doubt, leave it out.
- Consider the whole audience. We’re a diverse community with different backgrounds, experiences, and senses of humor. You may not find every joke funny but give others the same consideration you’d want for yourself.
- Please try to limit new posts to one or two a day; we don’t want to flood peoples’ inboxes!
One Important Principle
Nobody is expected to agree on what is funny. Please don’t respond to a joke you dislike by attacking the person who posted it. If something genuinely crosses a line, contact the list moderator (LaughChat+owner@RWV.groups.io) rather than turning the list into a debate about the joke.
