The Riderwood Model Yacht Club is a community group of enthusiasts building and racing radio-controlled model sailboats.

Spring, Summer, and early Fall members race their boats on the front pond. (A set of steps and platform will be built soon similar to the facilities at Greenspring, Oak Crest, and Charlestown).

Members build their own boats. Racing boats are Dragonforce DF65 Class built from kits.

Club meetings are held periodically to:

• help members build and trim their boats
• discuss construction plans for the pond
• train on use of the radio controls
• learn racing tactics and rules
• plan and organize races and social events

This is a fun and exciting hobby. New members are welcome. No experience is necessary. We learn as we play with boats.
