Each RWV subgroup has at least two moderators, to work together to manage the email group. A Computer Club administrator can reassign moderators as needed, normally when the leadership for the sponsoring resident group changes.

Moderator Permissions
All Moderator have the following groups.io permissions for their subgroup:
- Approve Pending Messages
- Edit Archives
- Create or Modify Hashtags
- View Member List
- Remove Members
For PRIVATE Groups (Restricted)
- Approve Pending Members
Adding New Members
Adding members to any RWV.groups.io subgroup is a subscribe-only function, since all new members need to be approved to assure that they are Riderwood residents before joining any subgroup.
To invite members, send them an email that includes your subgroup’s subscribe email (i.e., <subgroup>+subscribe@RWV.Groups.io). If they already belong to at least one RWV.groups.io subgroup and your subgroup is not Restricted, then they will automatically be subscribed to your subgroup. If you they don’t already belong to an RWV.groups.io subgroup, then their request to subscribe will be reviewed by a Computer Club Admin to confirm their residency, prior to approving their subscription to your group. If your group is Restricted, then their subscription will also require the approval of one of the moderators of your subgroup.
Moderating Messages
If there are members of your subgroup whose messages you would like to review prior to having them posted to the subgroup, you can edit their POSTING PRIVILEGES :

The Group Moderation Setting for all RWV.groups.io subgroups is that messages are not moderated, so any per-subscriber moderation can be set by updating the USER DETAILS screen – just click the subscriber’s name in your Members listing. The POSTING PRIVILEGES are located at the end of their USER DETAILS screen.
For moderated members, you will receive an email from groups.io with information about the message that needs approval, with instructions on how to approve or reject the message.
Moderating Members
If your subgroup group is a PRIVATE subgroup (i.e., Restricted), then new members remain in a Pending state until a moderator approves them. All moderators receive an email from groups.io with instructions on how to approve or reject the new member. This is independent of the approval needed to join any RWV.groups.io group (i.e., join the Main subgroup).
Subgroup Settings
When a Computer Club Admin creates each subgroup, the Preferences and Settings are established to fit the subgroup’s intended use. To learn more about the specific setting, visit RWV.groups.io Subgroup Setup. If your subgroup has a requirement for different groups.io settings, send an email to groups@riderwoodlife.com to discuss your requirements.
