The Environmental Coalition at Riderwood (ECO-R) is a standing committee of the Resident Advisory Council. The coalition was formed in the Fall of 2024 and includes representatives from Riderwood’s resident groups involved with environmental issues.
Our newsletter, EARTH MATTERS FROM ECO-R, provides regular emails with environmental “news you can use.”

Mission Statement
The Environmental Coalition at Riderwood facilitates communication, cooperation, and coordination among Riderwood’s various environmental groups. The ECO-R advocates for best environmental policies and projects and encourages environmental education for all staff and residents of the Riderwood Community.
Vision Statement
The vision of ECO-R is to address the existing serious environmental threats to our planet by creating and implementing a model for action on climate change, sustainability, and biodiversity in the Riderwood community that can be shared with other retirement communities and similar campuses throughout the United States.
