Our Mission
We present exhibits created by the residents and staff of Riderwood for the enjoyment of the Riderwood Community.
We solicit all forms of visual art from residents and staff and the submitted artwork is selected from a jury of art professionals drawn from outside the Riderwood Community. The exhibits rotate to all three galleries throughout the year.
Additional activities include receptions, Art Talks, Art Walks, and educational exhibits placed at various locations around campus.

Village Square Renovations Changes for the Arts Council
Due to the start of VSQ repositioning, the Arts Council Gallery near the Potomac Café has closed.
We plan to reopen the Gallery when construction is complete. There will be no new fall exhibit.
Two galleries remain open, and Exhibit 20 is planned for early 2026.
Thank you for your support and patience as we work to keep our artists and community connected.
Adventures in Creativity
Adventures in Creativity exhibits rotate throughout the campus as well.
Watch for them at LSC terrace level near Encore, TNC Calvert Landing second floor elevator foyer, and in MST first floor. These displays celebrate residents who ventured into new creative efforts since retiring, as well as residents who have facilitated creativity on campus.
Arts Council Members (2025)
Winnie Coggins (Chair), Kathy Brennan, Doug Bolt, Kathy Dopkeen, David Ebert, Karen Evans, Amy Greenwood, Herb Lieberman, Tom Mertz, Michele Morgan, Melanie Rothchild, and Jerry Weinstein.
