Restorative Therapeutic Yoga

Restorative Therapeutic Yoga
  • NOTE:  This is a FEE-based course.  $40 per 8 week session.  The course is arranged by a Riderwood resident, but the instructor is from outside Riderwood.

Restorative yoga is a series of postures and breathing techniques with the purpose to calm the mind and body while strengthening the body at the same time. We will combine therapeutic poses (adapting to your specific needs) with breathing techniques and mindfulness meditation.  The combination of these practices promotes functional mobility (including balancing) and helps stabilize the nervous system – which affects all body systems.  Studies have found that some of the benefits of this regular practice can help prevent falls, improve sleep, manage arthritis, pain and inflammation. Suitable for beginners.
